Construct an elementary rotation matrix describing a rotation around the x, y, or z-axis.
- Parameters:
axis (str) – Axis around which to rotate (“x”, “X”, “y”, “Y”, “z”, or “Z”)
rotationAngle (float) – The rotation angle in radians
- Returns:
rmat – The rotation matrix
- Return type:
array
- Raises:
ValueError – If an unsupported rotation axis string is supplied.
